MITRE is looking to develop cutting-edge autonomous systems, robotics capabilities, and AI solutions for a safer world, specifically in the field of manufacturing robotics.
Requirements
- Understand state-of-the-art in robotics and autonomous systems technology, particularly as it relates to AI and robotics for manufacturing
- Deep experience in one or more robotics-relevant fields, such as computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, control theory, human machine teaming, and multi-robot systems
- Familiarity with the state of the art in the field, including the use of ROS 2 and Docker
- Knowledge of the challenges of developing autonomous and AI systems that are robust in industrial manufacturing settings
- Experience with configuring and writing software for industrial applications
- Experience with edge computing, C-SWAP (compute, size, weight, and power) platforms, and/or surrogate or scaled platforms
- Knowledge and/or experience with Autonomy and AI evaluation capabilities in industry and academia
Responsibilities
- Develop Artificial Intelligence and/or Autonomous System solutions for manufacturing robotics
- Work on advancing challenges in manufacturing robotics across the industrial base
- Support MITRE’s AI and autonomy efforts
- Develop and evaluate AI and Autonomy algorithms
- Implement and evaluate AI and Autonomy algorithms
- Rapid prototyping, including fabrication and electronics
- Field testing of robotics and autonomous systems
Other
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
- Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to foster relationship development with sponsors
- Per the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance
- This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
