Outward Hound needs a Market Analyst to transform raw data into actionable insights and dashboards that will guide product positioning, pricing, and content optimization across major sales channels.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SQL or BigQuery and PowerBI.
- Familiarity with ecommerce KPIs and pet-industry dynamics.
- The ability to create reports, presentations and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- The ability to provide recommendations on product development, pricing, marketing strategies and sales tactics based on market research.
- The ability to identify and profile customer segments to target marketing efforts.
- Planning and executing A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of different strategies and layouts.
- The ability to monitor and report on KPI’s such as conversion rates, click-through rates and customer acquisition costs.
Responsibilities
- Mine NIQ, SPINS, Profitero, and Amazon Brand Analytics to size category trends and whitespace.
- Co-build and maintain Power BI dashboards (traffic, CVR, TACoS, sell-through, review sentiment).
- Package findings into “state of the category” decks for Merchandising and Ecommerce leadership.
- Validate A/B tests and coach non-analyst teammates on dashboard navigation.
- Analyzes online sales data, customer behavior, and market trends to help businesses improve their online operations and strategies.
- Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct competitive analysis, and collaborate with marketing and sales teams to optimize campaigns and improve the overall customer experience.
- The ability to create reports, presentations and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Other
- 3–5 years in market research, category management, or BI within CPG or retail.
- Strong storytelling skills—able to translate complex data into clear, visual narratives.
- Background in the pet industry or a passion for pet products.
- Hybrid role, all candidates must be local to Outward Hound's corporate office in Centennial, CO.
