- knowledge of cohort and case-control studies, incidence and prevalence, R₀ and herd immunity, confounding and bias, causal inference, diagnostic test performance, and global health surveillance systems
- experience with advanced language models
- familiarity with prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- ability to capture reproducible error traces and suggest improvements
- PhD degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or a closely related field is ideal
- peer-reviewed publications, applied research in population health, or work in public health agencies or field epidemiology signal fit
Responsibilities
- converse with the model on real-world epidemiological problems and theoretical scenarios
- verify factual accuracy and logical soundness
- capture reproducible error traces
- suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- challenge advanced language models on topics like cohort and case-control studies, incidence and prevalence, R₀ and herd immunity, confounding and bias, causal inference, diagnostic test performance, and global health surveillance systems
- document every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning
- help power the next generation of AI with expertise in study design, disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, biostatistics, risk factor analysis, transmission dynamics, public health interventions, and evidence synthesis
