Arconic is looking to refine the processing limits of existing alloy systems to continually increase manufacturing robustness and achieve company financial objectives through continuous improvement and cost reductions.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled at Purdue University in Materials Engineering Bachelor’s degree program.
- Minimum 1 year of engineering coursework completed.
- 3.0 GPA and above
Responsibilities
- Refine the processing limits of existing alloy systems to continually increase manufacturing robustness.
- Review revisions in quality documentation and implement changes to ensure all technical requirements are met.
- Determine root causes of deviations and implement effective corrective and preventative actions to minimize future disruption to manufacturing.
- Work actively on continuous improvement and cost reductions to achieve the company’s financial objectives.
- Gain experience and training across both our casting and extrusion production units through rotations and mentorship by senior metallurgists.
- Assisting with maintenance, repairs, project planning, and other tasks as assigned.
Other
- The Arconic Co-Op program requires that a student spend two semesters employed in a full-time capacity at one of our locations.
- Arconic prefers that the student alternate semesters between education and employment so the student can build off what they’ve learned in school and what they’ve experienced working with Arconic.
