Nike is looking to solve the problem of developing new and innovative materials for their performance apparel products while maintaining a thoughtful approach to material development and ensuring exceptional product quality for their athletes.

Requirements

  • Technical materials knowledge, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing and finishing techniques
  • Knowledge of knits, wovens, ribs and print
  • Knowledge of Trim development (techniques, technologies, and application)
  • Experience with computer skills, including Microsoft office applications and Product Data Management
  • Experience working with performance materials is highly desired
  • Knowledge of industry material trends
  • Strong information seeking-skills and a drive to make things happen

Responsibilities

  • Explore ideas in textiles, print and trims from trend through technological advancements
  • Collaborate with product creation team partners to deliver on the highest level of athlete experience with a commercialized materials palette grounded in key sustainability goals
  • Drive seasonal material development in partnership with vendors and manufacturing teams from concept to commercialization
  • Request testing, tracking and creative material solutions
  • Develop new materials and maintain an understanding of how materials perform when in garment form
  • Partner with vendors to develop and test a material from inception to production
  • Manage multiple projects with competing resources and deadlines across multiple seasons

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Textile Science, Apparel or related field
  • 2+ years relevant experience
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time
