Duke Energy is seeking first year Master of Business Administration (MBA) students to work on special projects throughout the summer and interface with various teams, contributing to Duke's clean energy transition strategy and gaining exposure to initiatives within the company.
Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
 
- Project Management Professional certification (for PMC role)
 
Responsibilities
- assist in all aspects of project development, including land acquisition, interconnection requests, environmental and technical diligence, permitting, project acquisition due diligence, financial modeling, funding and transaction approvals and project execution.
 
- assist with the projects and teams related to their assigned business unit.
 
- working towards bring new utility scale generation projects to the grid
 
- plans efforts to develop and sponsor lithium battery energy storage projects.
 
- financial planning & analysis budgeting/forecasting, and working closely on financial related matters with other teams within Duke Energy.
 
- Internship supporting the expanded natural gas development activities within the company, curated to the individuals interests and team needs.
 
Other
- Enrolled and actively pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from an accredited college or university with an anticipated graduation of spring/summer 2027
 
- Displayed interest in the energy industry
 
- Experience directing cross-functional teams
 
- Willingness to develop creative solutions for complex strategic issues
 
- Ability to work full-time (Monday-Friday) for 10-13 weeks in the summer of 2026
