An advanced robotics company developing autonomous mobile platforms is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Hardware R&D team. This role focuses on designing robust, modular mechanical systems that integrate actuators, sensors, and embedded electronics into scalable robotic platforms.
Requirements
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or Onshape; strong background in FEA and DFM
- Experience with drivetrain and actuator integration
- Comfortable with rapid prototyping and lab validation work
- Familiarity with mobile robotics or industrial automation
- Experience working with ROS or embedded firmware teams
- Knowledge of IP-rated enclosure design, thermal management, or cable routing
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype electromechanical assemblies for autonomous ground robots
- Conduct FEA and DFM to ensure structural integrity and manufacturing readiness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on electrical and software integration
- Support development of tooling, test fixtures, and documentation for manufacturing
- Drive product development from early concept to full deployment
