Requirements
- Experience with CAD Software: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA for creating detailed mechanical designs and 3D models.
- Knowledge of Actuator Systems: Understanding of various actuator systems, including electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic actuators, with experience in designing and optimizing these systems for humanoid robots.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills for performing simulations and finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate and optimize the performance of mechanical components. Ability to troubleshoot and solve design challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Create detailed mechanical designs for humanoid joint actuators, including 3D modeling, drafting, and prototyping. Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and durability requirements.
- Simulation and Analysis: Perform simulations and finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate the performance and structural integrity of actuator components. Optimize designs based on analysis results to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Material Selection: Identify and select appropriate materials for actuator components, considering factors such as strength, weight, and cost. Ensure materials meet industry standards and application requirements.
- Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing personnel. Ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs with other system components.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance and reliability of humanoid joint actuators. Analyze test data and iterate on designs to address any issues or improvements.
Other
- Mechanical Engineering Degree: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized courses in robotics or automation are a plus.
