Carrier is seeking a motivated college student to join their Heat Transfer Group within the Mechanical Center of Excellence (MCOE) organization for the Summer of 2026. The intern will gain practical experience in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, contributing to the development of new products and services that improve global comfort and efficiency for HVAC&R equipment.
Requirements
- Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree program in any Engineering field.
- Thermodynamics, Fluids and Heat Transfer coursework or previous internships preferred
- Apply engineering software such as MATLAB and EES to perform data reduction and heat transfer analysis.
- Develop heat transfer and pressure drop correlations that accurately describe performance of heat transfer surfaces over a wide range of single-phase, condensing, and evaporating conditions.
- Apply advanced simulation tools to assess system level impacts of new heat transfer components.
Responsibilities
- Support laboratory test rigs to characterize performance of enhanced heat transfer surfaces and components.
- Apply engineering software such as MATLAB and EES to perform data reduction and heat transfer analysis.
- Develop heat transfer and pressure drop correlations that accurately describe performance of heat transfer surfaces over a wide range of single-phase, condensing, and evaporating conditions.
- Apply advanced simulation tools to assess system level impacts of new heat transfer components.
