The Technology Development team at ITW is looking to solve the problem of researching, planning, and designing mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems related to flow and pressure measurement and control product families.
Requirements
- Proficiency with developing electro-mechanical valves preferred.
- Proven experience validating designs through modeling and simulation. Matlab and Simscape experience a plus.
- 3D Solidworks modeling, drawing generation and CAD database experience required.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook required.
- Competency to lead and manage mechanical design projects required.
- Ability to make technical contributions to a multi-disciplinary research and development team required.
- Advanced experience bringing designs to production using design for manufacturing techniques, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA's) and other quality control techniques.
Responsibilities
- Leads the mechanical design team across all new product development projects acting as the mechanical engineering subject matter expert.
- Develop and/or interpret product requirements specifications, and complex drawings or schematics.
- Work with Marketing and project teams to define detailed Mechanical Hardware requirements to meet system level product requirements.
- Coordinates selection and validation of product subcomponents (ie pressure sensors, flow sensors, valve actuators, etc)
- Selects materials of construction and machining process to ensure that product design meets SEMI industry standards and performs appropriately with gas chemistries used in the semiconductor manufacturing space.
- Designs molded, welded, etched, stamped, machined, and extruded components including close coordination with the electrical design group.
- Creates 3D model and part files for components and assemblies in SolidWorks, build product MPL’s, and create product BOM’s.
Other
- BS in Mechanical Engineering required. MS in Engineering a plus.
- Prior leadership or supervision experience a plus
- Ability to motivate and direct an engineering team, as well as make direct technical contributions required.
- 7-10 years of experience in high precision mechanical design.
- Excellent communicator who exhibits strong, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
