Requirements
- Strong design background coupled with solid engineering skills
- Extremely knowledgeable using 3D CAD tools such as CREO, NX, etc.
- Proven analytical skills including modeling analyses (simulations) using FEA applications such as Creo Simulation, COMSOL, etc.
- Capable of designing test stands, instrumenting, data acquisition and a desire for hands-on testing, daily
- Strong familiarity with machining practices and sheet metal fabrication and other manufacturing methods
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) and other rapid prototyping methods
- A demonstrated passion for Mechatronics in the form of robotics, industrial automation, and/or sensing/computer vision (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of mechanical design, analysis, evaluation, and ongoing performance of one or more Mechatronics products
- Lead or work within cross functional, multidiscipline technical teams to develop comprehensive product specifications, evaluate performance, and ultimately deliver timely solutions
- Utilize Mechatronics’ internal rapid prototyping to demonstrate and/or learn from quick design iteration
- Develop test criteria and equipment for automated test of products and provide necessary engineering support to ensure successful transition to high volume manufacturing
- Conduct failure analysis and drive continual improvement throughout life of product
- Follow 8D methodology for repeat and/or complex problems
- Manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously to ensure commitments are met
Other
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or a master’s degree with 0 years’ experience
- Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities
- Strong skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- This is a graduate eligible role
- Relevant work experience in semiconductor capital equipment or a similar industry (Preferred)
- On-site Flex work location model (3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week)
