foundry10 is looking to solve the problem of expanding ideas about learning and creating direct value for youth, specifically in the area of Technology, Media, and Information Literacy (TMIL)
Requirements
- Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to promoting digital wellbeing and digital media and information literacy for ages PreK-12
- Familiarity with current digital citizenship frameworks
- Ability to develop programs that result in measurable outcomes for participants
- Familiarity with research on the impacts of social media and technology on youth development
- Deep understanding of youth digital experiences, social media platforms, and emerging technology trends
- Experience with media literacy education, digital citizenship, or related fields
- Experience working with diverse youth populations and understanding of how various demographics experience digital media differently
Responsibilities
- Identify needs and gaps in K-12 media literacy education by analyzing partner needs, trends, relevant research, and current events
- Build relationships with educators, librarians, and digital citizenship specialists across Washington state
- Deliver youth programs that are virtual or hosted in-person at schools, partner facilities, and/or public venues that focus on promoting critical evaluation of digital media
- Develop and deliver programs and educational resources in collaboration with educators, caregivers, and/or school counselors and psychologists
- Collaborate with the Program Evaluator to assess program impact on participants' critical thinking skills, information evaluation abilities, and digital wellbeing indicators
- Collaborate with researchers to create research questions and contribute to program-based research projects on digital wellbeing and information literacy
- Identify and recommend impactful and responsive philanthropy initiatives related to healthy digital habits
Other
- Youth-facing experience with minimum five years of experience teaching and developing curriculum for K-12 youth programming
- Educator-facing experience with experience creating and facilitating professional development for educators on digital citizenship and media literacy
- Ability to translate research into practical strategies for educators and caregivers
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to support program budgeting process
- Must live in Washington State and be able to work in person in the greater Seattle area as needed
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
