Grand Itasca is looking to train and develop future Medical Assistants to meet the demand for primary care services in their community, aiming to transform rural healthcare.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Health Unit Coordinator, or US military corpsman/medic training required. Current registration or certification preferred.
- Must have basic computer proficiency and be comfortable using electronic health records.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical skills
- Complete onsite Medical Assistant course within 16 weeks, including both online and clinical requirements
- Pass offsite Medical Assistant proctored exam within three months of completing Medical Assistant course
- Be comfortable using electronic health records
- Perform other related duties as required
Other
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Six months' experience working as a Visit Facilitator at Grand Itasca preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience required. Healthcare-related experience preferred.
- Demonstrates ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
- Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
- Must be willing to commit to employment with Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital for at least 1 year after start date.
