The Ohio State University is seeking a Research Assistant Professor to join a dynamic research team focused on advancing cancer science, with a particular emphasis on the kidney cancer microenvironment.
Requirements
- PhD or MD/PhD required
- Considerable post-doctoral experience in basic research required
- Considerable experience in oncology required
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred
- Understanding of key components of grant writing and obtaining funding in support of research required
- Experience with administration of funded research required
- Successful completion of a background check required
Responsibilities
- Participate in departmental and institutional service, including committee work and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to graduate and medical education through teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development.
- Develop and lead an independent, externally funded research program in tobacco research.
- Publish impactful research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the OSUCCC – James, including basic scientists, clinicians, and translational researchers.
- Participate in laboratory operations and scientific discovery.
- Contribute to the development of new research initiatives and grants.
