Mercor is looking to find top talent to review, maintain, and troubleshoot live repositories, leveraging open-source contributions and deep Git expertise.
Requirements
- Experience as an open-source developer or maintainer
- Comfortable reasoning about Git at a deep level
- Adept at debugging repository states and fixing broken histories without data loss
- 3+ years of software engineering experience in open-source, backend, or DevOps roles
- Demonstrated history of contributions on GitHub, GitLab, or other OSS platforms
- Experience in code review
- Experience in AI/LLM model evaluation (Bonus)
Responsibilities
- Review, maintain, and troubleshoot live repositories
- Reason about Git at a deep level
- Debug repository states and fix broken histories without data loss
- Contribute to or review code in live repositories
- Evaluate and maintain open-source codebases
- Work with backend or DevOps systems
- Perform code review or AI/LLM model evaluation (if applicable)
