Brunswick is looking for a Software Engineering Co-op to assist with the design, production, and manufacturing of outboard and sterndrive motors for the recreational boating industry, focusing on control algorithm development and testing.
Requirements
- Using Simulink and MatLab for control algorithm development and analysis.
- Testing embedded software on target controller and simulation board
- Updating documentation related to control software
- Testing embedded software on engines/boats.
- Assisting Control Software Engineers with user interfaces for ad hoc tests and displays.
- Operate oscilloscopes, perform data capture and analysis.
- Become proficient in writing MatLab scripts for data analysis and writing reports to document findings.
Responsibilities
- Using Simulink and MatLab for control algorithm development and analysis.
- Testing embedded software on target controller and simulation board

- Testing embedded software on engines/boats.
- Assisting Control Software Engineers with user interfaces for ad hoc tests and displays.
- Interface with cross-functional teams within Mercury
- Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems.
Other
- Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Electrical or Software Engineering
- Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
- Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) through a full co-op term running January to August 2026 or June to December 2026
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to enroll in a formalized co-op Program through your university
