TE Connectivity is looking to solve the problem of designing, developing, validating, and releasing embedded firmware for advanced connectivity solutions by hiring a Manager II of Product Development Engineering (Embedded Firmware). This role will drive technical excellence and ensure product development aligns with business objectives, customer requirements, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in embedded C programming, real-time microcontroller architectures, and low-level drivers (I²C, SPI, ADC, DAC, etc.).
  • Proven success in firmware release planning, version control (e.g., Git), and configuration management.
  • Experience leading teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies, with strong emphasis on iterative development and continuous delivery.
  • Solid background in firmware validation, testing, and debugging methodologies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret test/lab data and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of embedded firmware engineers through all phases of product development, from concept to production release.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in embedded C programming, microcontroller architectures, and firmware development best practices.
  • Define and execute firmware release planning, ensuring high-quality, timely, and traceable releases across multiple product lines.
  • Champion Agile development methodologies, driving efficiency, adaptability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Establish design and performance requirements for embedded firmware, ensuring alignment with system and customer needs.
  • Oversee code development, integration, testing, and validation for complex embedded systems.
  • Conduct design reviews and make data-driven decisions regarding product functionality and performance improvements.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of embedded firmware engineering experience, including hands-on design and development.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead across global, cross-functional teams.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable leader with a track record of delivering complex embedded solutions on time.
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $149,000 – $224,000
