The Virginia Department of Emergency Management needs a Microsoft Power Platform Developer & Data Analyst to design, develop, and maintain business applications, automated workflows, and data analytics solutions to support VDEM's mission.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven), Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of Power Fx (Power Apps formula language) and DAX (Power BI).
- Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services, SharePoint, and Teams integration.
- Experience with APIs, connectors, and data integration tools.
- Ability to analyze business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Power Platform environments (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
- Develop custom apps, workflows, and integrations with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SQL, and APIs.
- Create dashboards and reports in Power BI; perform data analysis using DAX and Power Query.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Maintain documentation, monitor performance, and recommend enhancements.
- Provide training and user support for Power Platform tools.
Other
- This position is eligible for one day of telework per week. Due to the public-facing nature of the role, regular onsite presence is required.
- All VDEM employees are designated as essential personnel and may be required to work during emergency situations, such as inclement weather, and natural or man-made disasters/events. This may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in this Employee Work Profile/job description.

- Ability to create training materials and deliver end-user support.
- Experience in public sector or emergency management environments is a plus.
