The company is looking to expand its Engineering team in Portugal with highly talented and driven Backend Software Engineers to deliver working code that solves real problems for both internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Technical expertise with at least one programming language (Kotlin and Ruby are used).
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres is used).
- Experience with React on the frontend.
- Experience with Kotlin microservices on the backend.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails (for older services).
Responsibilities
- Design solutions to business problems, contributing to an architectural vision that will scale up to be the world's leading research platform.
- Ship working code using React on the frontend and Kotlin microservices with Postgres on the backend.
- Deploy and iterate by releasing frequently to customers and gathering feedback to inform the next iteration.
- Build competency by learning quickly and building market-leading technology with experienced colleagues.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting by monitoring services, catching errors, diagnosing the root cause, and deploying fixes.
Other
- A degree in a STEM subject (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience working at a similar level in a mature Engineering team.
- Proven track record of making a demonstrable impact in previous roles.
- Highly driven and proactive with an obsessive attention to detail.
- Must be a current resident of Portugal (remote position exclusively for Portuguese residents).
