Enhancing global ship tracking systems to detect and disrupt illicit activities at sea, including smuggling, trafficking, illegal fishing, and waste dumping, while also preventing terrorism, securing global commerce, and strengthening U.S. homeland defense for the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC
Requirements
- Strong experience in both structured and object-oriented software development
- Proficiency with enterprise architecture and database design for complex systems
- Experience with business process modeling and web-based development techniques
- Knowledge of Multi-INT data processing, sensor technologies, and surveillance methodologies
- Familiarity with MS Access and government fiscal compliance requirements
- Experience with database engineering
- Ability to manage budgets, financial tracking, and project scheduling tools
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, install, and maintain complex software systems, primarily for Multi-INT processing
- Develop and maintain technical/user documentation and provide system training and orientation
- Apply structured and object-oriented programming using modern software development tools
- Collaborate with development teams across the software development lifecycle
- Design enterprise architectures and database systems for ground-based analysis platforms
- Implement system information modeling, BPM, workflow processes, and web-based solutions
- Build and manage databases for storing raw data and Multi-INT fusion products for warfighter dissemination
Other
- Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance is required
- U.S citizenship required (green card holders and permanent residents are not eligible)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- 10 years of experience in database engineering
- Ability to obtain / maintain a government security clearance
