WSP USA is seeking a Mining Engineering Intern to support various engineering tasks and develop technical, social, and ethical skills within the Earth & Environment Team
Requirements
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
- Experience in materials testing (preferred)
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
- Basic principles of Mining Engineering
- Geology, mine stability, excavation and minerals processing
- SK-1300 / NI-43-101 / JORC requirements
- Technical reporting on client resources and reserves
Responsibilities
- Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills
- Learn basic principles of Mining Engineering
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis
- Assist in desktop studies on geology, mine stability, excavation and minerals processing
- Assist in technical reporting on client resources and reserves for SK-1300 / NI-43-101 / JORC requirements
- Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
Other
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Mining Engineering or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later
- Must be 18 or older
- Demonstrated interest in Mining Engineering, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
