Collins Aerospace is looking to solve the business problem of developing and maintaining software for Strategic Nuclear Deterrence, ensuring the efficacy and security of software vital to national defense.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of Software Engineers.
- Experience leading engineers through software development of applications
- Project Management, Control Account Management (CAM), and earned value experience.
- Working knowledge of bidding and project/task estimation tools (e.g. SEER-SEM products).
- Experience with processes such as peer review, configuration, and change management.
- Experience with software virtualization, hypervisors
- Experience with model-based systems engineering and modeling practices
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers through design, development and documentation of software engineering plans of large complex systems.
- Attract, engage and retain a team of software engineers (10 – 15), to build critical software applications for a NO FAIL mission.
- Coordinate across engineering teams in the integration of large complex systems, utilizing automation and simulation tools.
- Plan project level work and meet schedule, cost, and performance goals.
- Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects.
- Interact with a cross-functional team of (including, but not limited to) Engineers, Engineering leaders, Program Managers, Business Developers, Finance, Quality, and Production
- Serve as a liaison between functional discipline groups and internal and external customers

- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience
- Effective communication skills with all levels of management, program team members, and external stakeholders.
- Travel occasionally to support program requirements
