Acentra Health is seeking to bridge data science with software engineering to develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning models and pipelines to address healthcare challenges such as disease prediction, patient risk stratification, clinical decision support, and personalized medicine.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with object-oriented scripting languages such as Python or R (preferred)
- Experience deploying and managing ML systems on cloud platforms like Azure and/or AWS (preferred)
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (highly desirable)
- Certificates or comprehensive coursework in relevant specialty areas (can substitute for experience)
- Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist
- Experience with deep learning and NLP
- Experience with large language models and foundation models
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to address healthcare-related challenges
- Explore and apply advanced ML techniques, including deep learning and NLP
- Develop data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data augmentation methods to enhance model accuracy
- Evaluate, validate, and ensure the robustness and reliability of ML models using appropriate metrics
- Optimize models for performance, scalability, and real-time deployment, considering computational and regulatory constraints
- Lead development efforts involving large language models and foundation models to create operational efficiencies
- Oversee continuous integration and continuous deployment (CICD) pipelines for ML projects
Other
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including data scientists, clinicians, researchers, and product managers
