Apple's AIML organization is looking to leverage foundation models and build upon cutting-edge ML robotics research to enable the development of generalizable and reliable robot systems
Requirements
- Experience with generative models, e.g. LLMs, VLMs, VLAs, diffusion models, etc.
- Experience with learning-based robot control policies
- Experience with robot manipulation
- Consistent track record of researching, inventing and/or shipping advanced machine learning models
Responsibilities
- conducting collaborative research on a variety of novel machine learning approaches and robotics platforms
- leveraging foundation models in the development of brand new learning-based control policies
- informing data collection efforts
- contributing to training and testing infrastructure
- remaining up to date on the latest literature
- developing vision-language-action models (VLAs)
- working on imitation learning, reinforcement learning and synthetic data
Other
- Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or relevant degree
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
