Apple is looking to leverage foundation models and build upon cutting-edge ML research to enable the development of generalizable and reliable robot systems.
Requirements
- Experience with generative models, e.g. LLMs, VLMs, VLAs, diffusion models, etc.
- Experience with learning-based control policies
- Experience with robot manipulation
- Consistent track record of researching, inventing and/or shipping advanced machine learning models
- Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to, vision-language-action models (VLAs), imitation learning, reinforcement learning, world models, synthetic data and related areas.
Responsibilities
- Conducting collaborative research on a variety of novel machine learning approaches and robotics platforms.
- Leveraging foundation models in the development of brand new learning-based control policies.
- Informing data collection efforts.
- Contributing to training and testing infrastructure.
- Remaining up to date on the latest literature.
Other
- Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or relevant degree.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work with cross-functional teams
