Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) is seeking an ML School Support Specialist to support and coordinate with school leaders and school personnel in areas of ESOL program, Dual Language, and pathways for the Seal of Biliteracy to build capacity of school-based teams and ensure compliance with CSUSA policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with developing Multilingual Learner plans
  • ESOL endorsement (current and completed)
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate project management skills and an ability to work independently
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships state teams

Responsibilities

  • Remain informed of changes to ML federal and state laws to support school level compliance.
  • Attend conferences, trainings, and meetings regarding state, federal and local law updates and best practices for supporting special populations.
  • Provide support for Multilingual Learner achievement through developing teacher trainings, coaching school based ML Coordinators, and assisting with implementation of Multilingual Learner plans.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop local processes and procedures to align with state and district policies related to Multilingual Learners.
  • Provide monitoring to ensure that required meetings, evaluations and reevaluations are conducted in an accurate and timely manner at schools.
  • Support processes for ML assessments, accompanying data analysis and action planning for data-driven instruction.
  • Evaluate research-based resources and materials to support in the accomplishment of ML language acquisition goals, and report findings to the appropriate state academic team members for curriculum guide edits/additions.

Other

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent
  • Master's Degree or commensurate experience, preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience
  • Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills
  • Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession
