Magellan Aerospace is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC milling programs for high-precision aerospace and defense components, aiming to streamline production, improve cycle times, and resolve machining issues for consistent accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in CNC programming, up-to 5-axis experience.
- Familiarity with Siemens 840D, Fanuc and Mazak controls
- Proficient in CATIA V5 software
- Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality control standards.
- Experience in creating and optimizing complex CNC programs for precision machining.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Familiarity with G-code and M-codes
Responsibilities
- Create, read, and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models, ensuring clear communication of machining requirements.
- Interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations and sequences.
- Create and optimize CNC programs using CATIA V5 CAM software to produce complex aerospace and defense components.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job, ensuring machine capabilities align with part specifications.
- Select and install appropriate tooling for each job and design/create custom fixtures when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, machine setups, modifications, and test results.
- Generate documentation to set up CNC machines, perform test runs, and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet specified quality and tolerance standards.
Other
- An Associate’s degree in CNC programming, machine tool technology, or a related field
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or medical industries is strongly preferred.
- Turning or Mill-turn experience is a plus.
- Full-time position with occasional overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, machinery, and potential hazards, while adhering to all safety protocols.
