L3Harris Technologies is seeking an NDT Level III RT/DR, Quality Engineering Specialist to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings, manage the NDT supply base, and support quality assurance processes for aerospace and defense products.
Requirements
- Requires NDT LVL III RT (Radiography) and DR (Digital Radiography) certifications.
- Must have experience with RT and DR inspection of welds along with defect recognition
- Must have both RT and DR Level 3 ASNT Certification and/ or currently active NAS410 Level III certifications.
- A demonstrated proficiency with a variety of NDT inspection techniques and equipment along with a working knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation is required.
- Knowledge of industry NDT standards (ex. NAS410, ASTM 1742, ASTM 1417, ASTM 1444, AMS-STD-2154, etc...) is requisite.
- Candidate must meet requirements of NAS-410.
- Hands-on working experience in a manufacturing environment and a corresponding understanding of manufacturing processes is essential.
Responsibilities
- Review supplier-submitted NDT technique sheets for compliance to AR-Los Angeles specifications and drawing requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers on the development and approval of these technique sheets.
- Prepare necessary reports.
- Manage site NDT supply base by monitoring suppliers to ensure flow down of AR requirements to sub-tier suppliers, audit existing NDT suppliers and assess potential new NDT suppliers for their ability to meet site requirements.
- Provide training and testing to L I and L II.
- Develop, review and approve NDT techniques with L II personnel.
- Write, review and approve specifications pertinent to NDT.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must possess strong computer skills and be well-organized.
- Position requires responding to customer needs and may include weekend work.
- Experience with auditing practices and Process Certification is desired.
