L3Harris is seeking a NDT Level III RT/DR/UT/PT, Quality Engineering Specialist to join their team in Canoga Park, California, to support the company's mission-critical needs in the aerospace and defense industry.

Requirements

  • NDT LVL III RT (Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), UT (Ultrasonic), or PT (Penetrant) certifications.
  • Level 3 ASNT Certification and/ or currently active NAS410 Level III certifications
  • Hands-on working experience in a manufacturing environment and a corresponding understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Experience with auditing practices and Process Certification
  • A demonstrated proficiency with a variety of NDT inspection techniques and equipment along with a working knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Knowledge of industry NDT standards (ex. NAS410, ASTM 1742, ASTM 1417, ASTM 1444, AMS-STD-2154, etc...)
  • Candidate must meet requirements of NAS-410

Responsibilities

  • Review supplier-submitted NDT technique sheets for compliance to AR-Los Angeles specifications and drawing requirements.
  • Manage site NDT supply base by monitoring suppliers to ensure flow down of AR requirements to sub-tier suppliers, audit existing NDT suppliers and assess potential new NDT suppliers for their ability to meet site requirements.
  • Review process specifications, in-house technique sheets, etc.
  • Provide training and testing to L I and L II.
  • Develop, review and approve NDT techniques with L II personnel.
  • Write, review and approve specifications pertinent to NDT.
  • Support review boards for inspectability of product.

Other

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must possess strong computer skills and be well-organized.
  • Position requires responding to customer needs and may include weekend work.
  • Auditing experience/certification desired
