The Bureau of Application Development & Database Administration at the DEPT OF HEALTH/MENTAL HYGIENE is looking to solve the problem of developing and maintaining high-quality, customized software business solutions and database administration services that align with the agency's strategic goals and public health vision. This includes ensuring critical databases are operational 24/7 and available in disaster situations, and providing advisory services for specialized database needs. The role also involves ensuring security is factored into the software development process and creating accurate time and effort estimates for assignments.
Requirements
- Minimum eight (8) years of strong, hands-on C-Sharp, ASP.Net Core, ASP.NET, ADO.Net, JavaScript, with strong knowledge of Object Oriented and .NET development principles.
- Minimum five (5) years of Microsoft SQL server experience with strong knowledge of relational database principals, normalization, functions, and stored procedures.
- Experience translating business requirements to technical specifications and database designs.
- Must have strong database design experience.
- Experience and comfort providing accurate project and work effort estimates.
- Proven ability to keep up to date on latest technology trends.
Responsibilities
- Modify and develop .NET code for various .NET applications to meet the business needs.
- Work with a DBA to performance tuning the existing SQL database structure.
- Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts, software architects, and IT professionals to implement practical solutions
- Ensure that all solutions are lightweight, scalable, and built to a high level of quality
- Ensure security is being factored into each step of the software development process for various systems
- Create estimates on time and effort to complete assignments based on end-user requirements.
