Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building one of the world’s largest and most resilient cloud networks. The Internet Engineering team within OCI’s Global Network organization ensures OCI’s Internet front door can scale rapidly to meet growing global demand. The team is responsible for scaling Internet peering, transit, and interconnect capacity through software, automation, and data-driven engineering.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java or similar languages with experience in automation frameworks (Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform, or internal orchestration tools).
- Deep understanding of Internet routing and control-plane protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, EVPN).
- Familiarity with ISP or CSP border network architectures, including peering, IXPs, and edge connectivity.
- Experience with network APIs, telemetry systems, and CI/CD-based test automation preferred.
- Apply understanding of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and other routing protocols to automate configuration and monitoring of Internet-facing systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing large-scale routing environments in collaboration with operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop Transit & Peering connectivity solutions and Internet edge network designs in close collaboration with partner teams.
- Design network topologies, evaluate technologies and protocols, and select platforms that align with OCI’s product and scaling needs.
- Liaise with vendors on feature development and participate in hardware and software qualification efforts.
- Champion innovation by bringing new network products to life, from initial concept to lab validation and full-scale deployment.
- Take designs from concept through feasibility testing, performance qualification, and operational readiness in OCI’s qualification labs
- Build and maintain automation frameworks and tools that streamline provisioning, configuration, and validation of Internet capacity.
- Use software to accelerate network turn-ups, reduce manual work, and improve visibility through telemetry and analytics.
Other
- 3–7 years of experience in network engineering, software development, or network automation roles.
- Comfortable working in large-scale, distributed, and cross-functional environments.
