General Dynamics Mission Systems, Inc. is looking to hire Network Operations Interns to support their enterprise network by monitoring, troubleshooting, and fulfilling support requests, gaining exposure to various network technologies and tools.
Requirements
- thorough understanding of network operations principles
- Working knowledge of network principles, practices, and mindset
- Basic understanding of network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and routing
- Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python or Bash
- Basic understanding of network monitoring tools and platforms
- Working knowledge of server architecture and an understanding of virtualization technologies, storage systems, enterprise security practices, and replication technologies
Responsibilities
- monitoring, troubleshooting, and fulfilling support requests
- work on SDWAN, LAN, and/or WLAN technologies
- exposure to enabling technologies such as network access controls and network monitoring tools
- write simple scripts with supervision and guidance
- understanding of network principles, practices, and mindset
- understanding of network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and routing
- understanding of network monitoring tools and platforms
Other
- enrolled in an accredited degree program with a preference in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering
- selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates personally accountable behavior and shows initiative and enthusiasm on assignments
