Leidos is seeking a Network Operations Intern to support the operations, sustainment, and defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The role aims to address challenges in network operations, maintenance, management, and incident management for vital communication networks.
Requirements
- Familiarization with Microsoft Office, OSI Model, ServiceNow, and SharePoint
- Experience with technical writing and a working knowledge of networking concepts and topologies
- Obtaining a CompTIA Security+ certification (or IAT Level II equivalent) required for subsequent engagement periods and/or full-time employment upon graduation
Responsibilities
- Performing incident management support for the Department of Defense global network
- Creating, updating, and resolving incident tickets utilizing Service Now ITSM+
- Monitoring internet access points for events impacting global connectivity
- Providing real-time network monitoring utilizing various network monitoring tools
- Reviewing, updating and developing documentation and metric collections for contract delivery
- Providing timely situational awareness updates to leadership and customers for all network impacting events
- Providing support for customer questions and issues during all phases of the Network Management
Other
- Current enrollment in a degree program from an accredited college/university in a relevant discipline is required for consideration (excludes Cyber Security)
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and contract personnel via telephone, electronic mail, instant messaging, and in person
- Ability to obtain a Secret or Top Secret clearance; Secret required to start (selected candidates will be sponsored for required clearance)
- Must be a US Citizen
- Work must be performed on Hill AFB Utah (remote work is not available)
- Must have own transportation to enter Hill AFB Utah
- Must maintain active student status, with enrollment extending into Fall 2026 and graduation no earlier than Dec 2026
