Leidos is seeking a Network Operations intern to support the operations, sustainment, and defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The goal is to contribute to the security and reliability of vital communication networks.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of IT principles, programming fundamentals, and networking concepts (OSI Model, Python, Ansible, Yang, HTML/XML, VBA, SQL, Unix/Linux, Bash, SED/AWK).
- Commitment to obtaining Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification) within a specified timeframe.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; Interim Secret required to start (selected candidates will be sponsored for required clearance).
Responsibilities
- Perform functional analysis of data and network designs to ensure efficient operation.
- Convert customer requirements into precise hardware and software specifications.
- Provide customer support of user's questions and issues during all phases of the Network Engineering lifecycle.
- Performing trouble analysis of data and network design.
- Create documentation and collect metrics for timely government reporting.
- Administer servers and applications, ensuring system stability and security.
- Customer provisioning and onboarding.
Other
- Actively pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology) from an accredited college/university.
- Proven ability to perform data analysis, extract meaningful insights, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Geographic Requirement: This position is based on-site at MacDill AFB, FL.
- Reliable transportation to MacDill AFB is required.
