Stanford University is seeking to find better ways to measure strength, function and health for individuals with Neuromuscular Disease including Muscular Dystrophies, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Inherited Neuropathies, and other conditions

Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in acquiring and/or processing data signals that requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with basic programming and scripts (for example, using R, python, MATLAB, SQL)
  • Strong general computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs
  • Experience in data science with applied statistics, visual and communicating data
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and various industry-oriented electronic data capture programs
  • Experience with database, data management, REDCAP, IRB requirements and the Stanford clinical research environment highly desirable
  • Learning SQL or having experience with Google Cloud would be preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collect, manage and clean datasets
  • Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize multivariate relationships in data
  • Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and determine root cause for data problems from input errors or inadequate field edits, and suggest possible solutions
  • Develop reports, charts, graphs and tables for use by investigators and for publication and presentation
  • Collaborate with faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods
  • Design, develop, and maintain REDCap databases

  • Enjoy working directly with patients and their families in clinic and at research visits
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team in a collaborative manner
  • Ability to determine workload priorities in an appropriate way to accomplish tasks and goals, meet deadlines
  • Takes initiative with good problem solving skills to anticipate and solve problems
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience
