Galileo is seeking a Backend Engineer to play a pivotal role in our SoFi Money product architecture transformation, focusing on the evolution of our banking core and the implementation of enhanced account structures, including readiness for new products. We are working hard to design a future looking framework, with the aim to scale our customer base, continue to delight existing customers, and disrupt the banking industry.
Requirements
- Proficient in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, and DynamoDB/PostgreSQL.
- Experience with modern OOP languages, Java frameworks, REST APIs, and relational/NoSQL databases
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming best practices
- Proven track record of building highly-scalable REST APIs
- Experience with workflow orchestration systems, such as Temporal.io
- Prior experience deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (gradle, git, automated testing and deployments)

- You will have graduated and your highest level of education is only a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related major (Spring 2025 New Grads or within 1 year of graduation)
- You are available to start working immediately in October 2025
- Previous intern experience with software engineering is required
- No more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience (excluding internships and research assistant roles)
- Reside in the United States and attend a university in the US
