The company needs to weld components for hydraulic cylinders, rods, and tubes according to specifications, requiring skilled individuals to operate robotic welders and ensure quality.
Requirements
- Uses robotic welder to weld components for hydraulic cylinders, rods, and tubes according to specifications provided.
- Uses computer programs.
- Demonstrates a working understanding and practical application of shop math: practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry required to interpret prints and produce quality parts;
- Reads and interprets sketches and prints;
- Analyzes problems common to welding and identifies the root cause;
- Measures components and assemblies to verify conformance to the print (tape measure, scale, caliper);
Responsibilities
- Welds components for hydraulic cylinders, rods, and tubes;
- Tacks components to be welded by the robot;
- Feeds parts to robot with as little down time as possible;
- Keeps welding spatter to a minimum, using spat guards and/or prohibiters as appropriate;
- Removes spat with manual or power equipment as necessary;
- Monitors and corrects weld defects (cold lap, porosity, undercut, etc.);
- Performs daily robot maintenance (cleanup, check for loose connections, etc.);
Other
- Applies common sense understanding to basic work processes;
- Carries out detailed, but simply stated, written or oral instructions;
- Handles problems involving a few concrete and routine job specific variables;
