Amazon Robotics is seeking a Product Development Engineer to deploy and service complex electromechanical work stations in a warehouse type environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- NPI with strong knowledge of scaling products
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline, Mechanical, Systems, Robotics, Electrical, Manufacturing or suitable experience
- Proficient in 3D modeling software (ex: Solidworks)
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Proficient in GD&T
Responsibilities
- Provide design for X guidance/feedback on electromechanical designs
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to integrate complex systems
- Identify risk to programs and provide mitigation strategies
- Evaluate and approve Design Engineering Changes Orders (DECOs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Implement best practices for engineering standards
- Analyze NPI failures to identify root cause and drive improvements through future DFx cycles
- Effectively write White Papers (WP) and Design Scalability Papers (DSP)
Other
- Up to 30% travel required (domestic and international)
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline, Mechanical, Systems, Robotics, Electrical, Manufacturing or suitable experience
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other relevant technical discipline (Preferred)
- 7+ years of NPI product deployment experience (Preferred)
- High level of attention to detail but flexibility to enable to business to move at a high velocity
- Navigate projects consisting of a high level of ambiguity and provide guidance to multiple partners
