The Department of Computer Science at Texas State University is seeking to expand its faculty in the fields of Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence to enhance its research output, teaching capabilities, and student mentorship.
Requirements
- An earned doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related field prior to employment.
- Evidence of or potential for research excellence in Machine Learning, Data Science and/or Artificial Intelligence.
- Evidence of or potential to obtain external funding
- Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
- Evidence of research excellence in Machine Learning, Data Science, and/or Artificial Intelligence.
- Evidence of having obtained research grants.
- Evidence of a sustained record of research excellence in Data Science, Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Conducting research that results in refereed publications and external funding
- Teaching effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels
- Supervising student research
- Serving at the department, college, university, and professional levels
- Evidence of or potential for research excellence in Machine Learning, Data Science and/or Artificial Intelligence
- Evidence of or potential to obtain external funding
- Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring students
Other
- An ability to contribute to the departmental mission.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Teaching (including experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate research students).
- Record of service.
