The Department of Defense requires advanced open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysis to support its intelligence mission, necessitating the identification of insights from large-scale data and enhancement of OSINT production.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in OSINT research and collection methods, including advanced analytical principles, data manipulation, analysis, and developing collection plans and risk assessments
- Experience with digital searches and producing collection requirements assessments
- Experience authoring intelligence products, including OSIRs
- Knowledge of PAI platforms, datasets, technologies, and critical web environments and associated tradecraft
- Ability to conduct independent analysis to support mission requirements and use advanced search techniques and tools to support the usage of PAI
- Ability to manage research and coordination for long-term projects
- Experience in Python and R
Responsibilities
- Conduct deep-dive research, produce analytic products, and support intelligence requirements with advanced collection techniques using a DoD-approved Managed Attribution system.
- Leverage emerging technologies to identify insights from large-scale data and enhance the relevance and depth of open-source intelligence (OSINT) production.
- Explore new data sources, create effective queries, and combine information from disparate sources to support the U.S. Department of Defense and operational partners.
- Construct new OSINT and PAI tradecraft documents and workflows, and analyze the development of OSINT and PAI tradecraft, including integration across multiple intelligence disciplines and systems.
- Leverage knowledge of Python or R, customize tools for select acquisition of bulk PAI data, and use internet technologies and observables, including process automation.
- Evaluate new PAI techniques and technologies, testing collection tools, writing and reviewing reports, and advising on policy or procedural improvements.
- Balance accuracy and expediency in production, track customer satisfaction, and comply with guidance on information sharing and protection.

- Experience integrating OSINT into all-source intelligence production and training others in advanced PAI research and analysis
- Experience identifying and analyzing disinformation, including source vetting for bias and inaccuracy
- Ability to show proficiency in languages of interest
