Xcel Energy is looking for an intern to support the IT-OT Modernization (NSP/SPS - EMS Team) within the Operation Technology (OT) Support organization, to work on specific requirements within the EMS DB Team and gain insight and exposure to the SCADA EMS construction project work.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Pursuing a degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, computer engineering, engineering, mathematics, analytics, or business
- Strong work ethic and initiative
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and has better organization skills
- High academic standing - GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Develop skills for technical understanding of SCADA systems and EMS architecture
- Provide support with construction project implementation, daily tasks and needs of Transmission Operations as well as Commercial Operations teams
- Work on specific requirements within the EMS DB Team
- Gain insight and exposure to the SCADA EMS construction project work
- Learn and work on IT-OT Modernization Organization
- Support the IT-OT Modernization (NSP/SPS - EMS Team)
- Work with the Operation Technology (OT) Support organization
Other
- Current student, Sophomore, Junior level only
- Able to commute to the 414 Nicollet Mall, MN, Denver, CO, or Amarillo Operation center, TX
- Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the spring (up to 20 hours a week)
