The University of Florida's Computer Science department is looking to improve its college workflow and reporting capabilities through the development and maintenance of software applications. They also aim to provide practical experience to Computer Science Senior Design students by assisting them in solving manageable problems.
Requirements
- Programming Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Dart
- Frameworks: React Native, Flutter
- Platforms: Web, WearOS, Android
- Databases: Firebase, MongoDB
- Cloud Services: Firebase, ExpoGo
- Minimum of one year's experience creating and/or extensively maintaining JavaScript code bases
- Minimum of one year's experience building/maintaining software using React
Responsibilities
- Design, write, document, and test software
- Translate user requirements into functional code
- Write clean, extensible, efficient code
- Thoroughly document any software and its development process
- Carry out rigorous testing to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of the developed applications
- Deploy developed software to generate reports and improve college workflow to support a variety of the College's business practices
- Continually maintain and improve software as necessary, promptly addressing any issues that may arise

- Work with Computer Science Senior Design students to assist them in solving manageable problems for an undergraduate student level programmer
- Train users in how to use any developed software to ensure a smooth transition and optimal usage of software
- Collaborate and communicate with users and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure software continues to meet College's strategic objectives
