The business problem that SNC is looking to solve with this internship is to develop and mentor students in the field of aerospace and defense, specifically in the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area, to prepare them for a career in the industry and potentially fill future full-time positions.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics
- Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Experience (or interest) in Optical Analysis/Testing
- Experience (or interest) in Thermal Emission physics
- Experience in Python or MATLAB coding
Responsibilities
- Perform Optical and Thermal Emissions Analysis
- Plan and execute optical lab testing
- Develop data analysis scripts
- Create presentation materials for internal/external stakeholders
Other
- Must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college or technical school, with at least 6 months until graduation after end of internship
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
- Strong organization skills and work ethic; detail oriented
