Oracle Healthcare platform team is looking to build and operate a suite of massively scaled integrated services in a broadly distributed environment to deliver the best cloud products to customers who are tackling some of the world’s largest healthcare challenges.
Requirements
- Deep, hands-on expertise managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Oracle GoldenGate* replication in production scenarios.
- 3+ years of experience streamlining and automating database administration with Python and DevOps tools (such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, or Oracle Cloud Native tooling).
- Strong Python scripting/coding skills for automation, monitoring, and integration with cloud platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines for database environments.
- Experience managing large-scale production databases on Linux (RHEL, OEL) and proficiency with Oracle ASM, RAC, and Data Guard.
- Proven success executing cloud migrations and upgrades for Oracle Databases, including Exadata Cloud Service and Oracle Autonomous Database.
- Shell and/or Perl is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Resolve complex technical challenges by defining, designing, deploying, and troubleshooting vital Oracle Cloud services, platforms, and infrastructure—always optimizing for reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
- Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical database and data replication delivery stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.
- Partner with development and operational stakeholder teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture.
- Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the OHAI Database Services portfolio.
- Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack.
- Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
Other
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), including extensive experience with production environments.
- Strong grasp of computer science concepts, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and mentor junior engineers.
- Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field).
