The Surgical Physician Assistant / PA role at Suburban Hospital is needed to provide first assist in a variety of surgical cases within their 11 fully equipped operating rooms, including specialized suites for open heart and ophthalmology. The hospital, a Level II Trauma Center and member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, requires support for its surgical services and patient care.
Requirements
- Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistance Program
- Licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians
- Board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- CDS and DEA licensure
- BLS Health Care Provider CPR and ACLS certification required: AHA or Red Cross accepted
- PA OR work experience 1 year or greater required
- Robotics experience preferred
- Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS) enrollment required
Responsibilities
- First Assist in General Surgery, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery cases
- Performs history and physicals on surgical patients
- Performs post-operative rounds on surgical patients
Other
- 8 and 12-hour rotating shifts; weekend work required; on-call week day & weekends
- You must be fully credentialled by the Suburban Hospital medical board with staff privileges to start working.
