Apple is looking for a Packaging PD Manager to lead a team of engineers in designing and executing packaging architecture from initial prototypes to mass production with sustainable packaging material. The goal is to deliver an outstanding customer experience, protect products during shipping, and advance Apple's sustainability goals.
Requirements
- Experience managing or serving as technical lead of a mechanical design team
- Experience working with 3D and 2D CAD
- Strong analytical skills and engineering fundamentals
- Experienced in failure analysis and root cause investigations of multi-disciplinary problems
- Experienced in solving complex technical challenges using a data-driven design approach
- Proven track record of shipping high volume consumer products
- Knowledge of FEA and material science, fiber based material understanding is a plus
Responsibilities
- lead a team of engineers to design and execute packaging architecture from initial prototypes to mass production with sustainable packaging material
- ownership of the mechanical design of the packaging of several products in our product portfolio
- responsible for the design, manufacturability, quality, and reliability of this packaging
- Drive detailed design processes, reviews, and validation plans that ensure our packaging meets performance requirements throughout its lifecycle
- Engage regularly with cross-functional peers and senior management who are based in multiple geographies to refine and execute your team’s designs
- Experience working with 3D and 2D CAD
- Experienced in failure analysis and root cause investigations of multi-disciplinary problems
