The Department of Biobehavioral Health at Penn State is seeking a Human Research Technologist to work with Dr. Idan Shalev to identify mechanisms underpinning the biological embedding of stress and its effect on biological aging across the lifespan.
Requirements
- at least one year of experience working in a wet-lab
- expertise in DNA and RNA extractions from multiple tissues
- qPCR analysis
- knowledge in statistical software (preferably R)
Responsibilities
- assist Dr. Shalev with laboratory assays and processing samples in multiple ongoing studies
- conduct inventory of lab supplies
- maintain participant database
- assist with other administrative laboratory procedures
- RNA and DNA isolation from human tissues
- cell separation
- telomere length analysis
- gene expression
