The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Penn State is seeking a Research Assistant to work on the rocket payloads developed in the McEntaffer research group lab, specifically to assist in the build up and testing for the upcoming rocket payload OGRE.
Requirements
- ability to work with high-resolution soft X-ray spectrometers
- knowledge of sub-orbital rocket payloads
- experience with technology development toward larger NASA missions
- ability to learn and receive training related to the role
- basic computer skills for data analysis and numerical modeling

- must be an undergraduate student at Penn State
