The Sweetman Lab in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management is seeking a research assistant position for research examining microplastic pollution of freshwater ecosystems in central Pennsylvania.
Requirements
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle as a part of job duties
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Extraction of microplastics from sediment, soil and other matrices
- Field sampling (streams, wetlands)
- Sorting field collected samples (macroinvertebrates)
- Data entry and microscope work
- Miscellaneous lab research duties
Other
- Successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check
- Bachelor's degree not mentioned but may be required
- Travel may be required for field sampling
