The dairy nutrition research laboratory of Dr. Alex Hristov at Penn State is seeking to fill a part-time research support position to assist with research trials and sample collection.
Requirements
- Experience with cattle or other livestock is preferred
- ability to use a Wiley Mill
- ability to run various sample analyses
Responsibilities
- weighing cattle refusal feed
- collecting feed samples
- assisting graduate students in their research trials with other sample collection (fecals, urine, blood, rumen contents, etc.)
- assisting with sample processing in the lab such as drying samples
- grinding samples using a Wiley Mill
- weighing samples
- running various sample analyses

- up to 24 hours/week, including at least one early morning refusal shift per week (5 AM) and up to two weekend days per month
